How Mormon is J.D. Vance?
Vance stated the LDS church should be the "model." I explore his time spent at his father church and their ties to the Mormon-y South African pastor Rodney Howard-Brown who threatened Trump in 2017.
The Vice President-elect J.D. Vance got his start at Peter Thiel’s VC firm Mithril Capital. Thiel has ties to Elon Musk via PayPal and SpaceX. Musk’s top advisor is Mormon Jared Birchall.
The Mormon world intersects with the Netanyahu crime syndicate via Ensign Peak Advisors love affair with Israeli technology. You can read about the Mormon mafia that I’ve previously covered. Every group has their criminal element, and most Mormons are good hard-working people.
LDS also have their ties to Modi’s India. As of 2023, The Church of Latter-Day Saints estimates 15,224 members in India. Yep, that is the Book of Mormon in Hindi below.
Charles Johnson has already written on J.D. Vance’s Likudnik and BJP ties, so I decided to focus on the possible Mormon links through his father Donald Bowman.
There’s crypto Jews, but what about crypto Mormons?
So, much of the Vice President-elect’s backstory doesn’t make any sense and it seems the mainstream media is enabling it. J.D. Vance’s conversion to Catholicism in 2019 seems more opportunistic—just like his recent jump on the Trump train—then a sincerely felt religious belief. Plus, Mitt Romney ran for President in 2012 as a Mormon and lost.
J.D. Vance Wants the LDS Church in Utah to be the Model
Before J.D. converted to Catholicism in 2019, Deseret News interviewed him in 2016 about his views on the Mormonism.
God plays an important role in hillbilly country, but not in the way you'd expect | Deseret News | Sept 3, 2016
JDV: I definitely do. A few months ago, I told a friend that I think the LDS Church in Utah is a really good model for how Christian churches should exist in communities like mine.
In Utah, the church as an institution is very strong. People are active and participate across racial and class lines.
J.D. Attended His Father’s Church
The media makes it seem like the V.P.-elect didn’t have much contact with his biological father, Donald Bowman, but he spoke of the structure it provided him in this interview with The New York Times.
Why JD Vance Converted to the Catholic Church | The New York Times | Aug. 25, 2024
As an adolescent, he went to his father’s church, where he was immersed in evangelical teaching. He learned to defend young-earth creationism, abandon his Black Sabbath music, anticipate the Rapture and try to convert people, like his seventh-grade science teacher who was Muslim. He became “pro-life” at age 14. He said that Christianity provided structure and “moral pressure” to his father, and to him.
“Not drinking, treating people well, working hard, and so forth, requires a lot of willpower when you didn’t grow up in privilege,” he said in a 2016 interview with Mr. Dreher.
Meet Donald Bowman
Since the media refuses to do their job, I found some interesting tidbits from Donald Bowman’s obituary:
Donald Bowman Obituary | Nov 4, 2023 | Hamilton, OH
Don graduated from Edgewood High School in 1979 and then worked as a machinist at Hamilton Tool for 13 years. Upon their closing, he became self employed, running a construction business, Bowman Construction & Excavating, for the past 30 years. In 2006, Don obtained his Florida Residential Contractor’s license, building beautiful custom homes for the next 3 years in Auburndale, Florida until returning to Ohio in 2008. Don was a member of River Church Cincinnati.
Don is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cheryl (McCarty) Bowman; 5 children, Ryan (Tara) Green, of Celebration, Florida; JD (Usha) Vance, Cincinnati, Ohio/ Washington DC; Cory (Jordan) Bowman, Cincinnati, Ohio…
J.D. Vance is a Cincinnati resident where his father and half-sibling’s church is also located.
The Bowman Family’s South African Ties
Cory & Jordan Bowman—J.D. Vance’s half-sibling and sister-in-law—are the founding pastors of The River Church Cincinnati and call South African pastor Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne (frequently featured on Alex Jones) and his wife, Adonica, from the Revival Ministries International their “spiritual leaders.”
Pastors Cory and Jordan and The River Church Cincinnati acknowledge the incredible impact of Drs. Rodney and Adonica Howard-Browne. This church wouldn't be possible without the example of our spiritual leaders and family in Tampa, FL at The River at Tampa Bay Church and Revival Ministries International.
Rodney Howard-Brown’s Mormon-y Rhetoric
Rodney Howard-Browne and his three brothers (Mervyn, Bazil, and Gil) were raised in a “Pentecostal” family in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. His grandparents were born in the United Kingdom and immigrated to Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. His father, Frank Mervyn Derrick Howard-Browne even did a mission to Kentucky in 1990.
In December of 1987, Rodney, along with his wife, Adonica, and their three children, Kirsten, Kelly, and Kenneth, moved from their native land, South Africa, to the United States called by God as missionaries from Africa to America.
The Lord had spoken through Rodney in a word of prophecy and declared, “As America has sown missionaries over the last two hundred years, I am going to raise up people from other nations to come to the United States of America. I am sending a mighty revival to America.”
Please no more. We have our own seditious criminals to deal with, thank you very much!
During Celebrate America, in July of 2014, at the Daughters of the American Revolution Constitution Hall, Dr. Rodney executed a restraining order against the structure that is holding America in captivity, binding it and rendering it powerless and ineffective, from the Supreme Court, to the White House, to the Executive Branch, Congress, and the Senate, in the Name of Jesus. He commanded the Church in America to wake up and for the people of God to come out of their slumber. He declared that it is time to take the land.
Why are we allowing hostile foreigners to immigrate to the United States while they attack the very institutions we hold sacred?
Mormonism in South Africa
I’d don’t hold Wikipedia entries in high confidence, but I was able to find some corroborating evidence. If anyone has read the book cited for the entry let me know.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in South Africa - Wikipedia
Early missionary efforts
The first Latter-day Saint missionaries to what is now South Africa, Jesse Haven, Leonard I. Smith and William H. Walker, arrived in Cape Colony at Cape Town on 19 April 1853. The first LDS branch was organized at Mowbray on 16 August 1853.[4]
In 1855, the original three missionaries went home and encouraged their fellow Latter-day Saints to emigrate to Utah and helped raise funds for them to do so. When local boat captains refused to transport Mormons, John Stock, Thomas Parker, and Charles Roper of Port Elizabeth sold their sheep and bought their own boat. Between 1855 and 1865, some 270 church members emigrated to the United States from Port Elizabeth.
In 1858, only 243 local members remained. Missionaries to Durban and Pietermaritzburg in 1863 experienced harassment similar to the first missionaries, like angry mobs and little protection from local constables.
So, if the LDS church in Pietermaritzburg was dealing with angry mobs, it would make sense for them to become crypto Mormons.
Most early converts were of British descent, and were often people born in Britain because proselyting efforts focused on English-speaking individuals of European descent, since blacks were not allowed to hold the priesthood at the time and the missionaries did not know how to speak Afrikaans.[4]
Today, there’s over 70,000 Mormons in South Africa. Not bad, eh?
Howard-Browne Family Possible Mormon Links
Rodney Howard-Browne’s great grandfather Herbert Howard Brown was born in England, and the family would settle in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa around the time of the Mormon missions from England.
Rodney Howard-Browne Calls Mormonism a “Cult” and Tanks Mitt Romney’s 2012 Candidacy
Well, I can’t say I actually disagree with that description, but it seems like it was more directed as an attack at Mitt Romney.to tank his candidacy for president in 2012.
'Mormonism is a cult,' says the Pentecostal preacher who introduced Newt Gingrich | Daily Mail Online | January 2012
He expressed grave reservations, however, about Mitt Romney's Mormon faith.
'Mormonism is a cult and that's the problem,' he said.
'Mormonism, if you study the whole history of it, and I'm not trying to create a problem, but they had death squads that would go around kill everybody that wasn't a Mormon.'
Mormons, he said, were 'very honourable people, very clean-married, godly, family' and their faith had 'been doctored up and painted nicely.' But the 'problem is the additon to the scripture, which is the book of Mormon, and all the other additives that Joseph Smith brought to the table.'
Howard-Browne said he was not aligned with any candidate, though he left the church grounds in Gingrich's bus afterwards. Gingrich was not present for his prayer.
Although there has been very little overt mention of Romney's faith (before Saturday, the only person I have heard highlight it publicly was Dick Harpootlian, the Democratic state chairman in South Carolina, on Fox News) his campaign believes it was a distinct factor in his defeat last Saturday.
Howard-Browne later recanted his statement against Mormonism.
2017 Trump Threat
Interesting that Trump has already had two assassination attempts within the past year, but none during his first term. What changed?
"Somebody reported me to the Secret Service, so they came over" he claimed. "Three guys, we sat and talked; very nice people and they wanted to know who the congressman was. I said, 'I can't tell you that, it was pastoral privilege.' I said, 'I prayed for him' and he said, 'So, it was like a confession?' I said, 'Yeah, I can't tell you. I'm not going to tell you, I can't tell you, it's impossible.'"
Trump Nominated Sheriff to DEA that Arrested Rodney Howard-Brown in 2020
Howard-Browne was arrested in Florida by Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister for breaking Covid protocols in 2020.
On November 30th, Trump announced his intention to nominate Sheriff Chronister as administrator of the DEA. The Sheriff later withdrew his name from consideration on December 3rd.
There’s so much political theater it’s hard to know if Trump was acknowledging the 2017 threat and the recent assassination attempts with Sheriff Chronister’s DEA nomination. If anyone has any pertinent information on Bowman Construction & Excavating let me know.
